While most everything here is MORE expensive, every now and then I get lucky and find a screaming deal. This lovely bunch of basil only put me back 99 cents! I was so proud of my purchase that when I got home I put the basil in a vase to make a divine smelling bouquet of goodness. While making dinner, I would simply pluck basil leaves from my bouquet and add them to the dish. Needless to say, our dinner was very "basily" that night...and for good reason.

Good timing- I just bought fresh basil for the first time ever in my life yesterday. And I bought it to make your corn salad! But I'm not so sure I did it right. . . how do you julienne fresh herbs?
Hey Kel...it's really easy to julienne the herbs. Basil has a trick to it that is super easy. This video should be informative and a quick way to learn.

I have loved having fresh herbs around - you've truly inspired me. We now grow our own basil & cilantro so that I'm not always running to the store for it.
what a wonderful idea, i think basil is my favorite herb.
