This post is inspired by one of my favorite wedding gifts I received, an original 1950's version of Betty Crocker's first picture cookbook. Betty Crocker has been a busy bee since she was born in 1921. It must be exhausting being an invented persona, culture icon, brand name, and trademark for General Mills. Did you know...Betty was created to give personalized answers to consumer questions. The name Betty was selected because it was viewed as a cheery, All-American name. In 1945, Fortune magazine named Betty Crocker the second most popular American woman. Eleanor Roosevelt was named first. What a woman...here's to Betty!
