reading this

If you love food television as much as I do, you will love this book! Kathleen Collins did an amazing job of capturing the spirit of food as it was translated through the medium of television. I have to fight back a smile when reading this on the subway. Thanks to this book, I'll have to put "Food Historian" on my list of things I'd like to be when I grow up!

You probably don't remember me, because I was just getting into the broadcast major when you were graduating. However, I saw your blog on Siovhan's and had to look it up since I love cooking!

I have a cooking question though that no one seems to know the answer to, so I figured I would try you and see if you can help!

Whenever I make zuchinni or banana bread, it never seems to cook the middle. The top gets all burnt and the middle is still goo. (http://meganandclaudy.blogspot.com/2009/02/domestic.html) Any thoughts? I was told to move my oven rack down, and I've done that but it still happens? Do I just put too much batter? Should I try smaller loaves?

I love these breads but think it's a waste when half of it is mush! Thanks so much!
